It has been an interesting afternoon... as you can see above with gas mask equipment and fire extinguishers in the front garden! We got home from the church this morning with our friends Bryan and Pauline and their girls and were greeted with a definite smell of gas around the house - though not inside. A quick phone call and a prompt arrival indicated there was indeed a gas leak somewhere near the house that was filtering throughout the ground under the driveway and out onto the pavement. We now have lots of wee holes with yellow chalk figures of the readings all over the place and a big hole in the front garden where they have isolated our gas pipe in order to determine where the leak is... so no heat or hot water for us until we get gas back again - hopefully tomorrow. [There's more...] At the moment a pneumatic drill is pounding away in the driveway right next to our TV/Broadband connection line. The folks that arrived have done a fine job so far, but I couldn't resist this piece from Flanders and Swann (complete with Lego animation!): Dim lights Embed Embed this video on your site
