Walking on water - that great mythic moment between Peter and Jesus. Ever wanted to step onto the water? This really made me laugh when I watched it. Money quote:

"Obviously the first step is the most important one. And then we like discovered, oh my God, Jesus, we're going one step, we're going two steps, we're going three steps. We're discovering it as we go along."

Was that Peter's reaction, I wonder? [There's more...]

Whatever, today I spent a few hours in the company of my step dad and Rev David Sinclair of Wellington Church doing some damage to Torrance House Golf Course in East Kilbride - only my second attempt at golf (the first being over 25 years ago), and I quickly realised it ain't the same as doing it on the Wii... Robin and I have been promising each other to go out and try to pick up some golf for years and finally we got a few hours to do it.

I was definitely, however, not walking on water, and on top of the metaphorical drowning we also got substantially drenched in the downpours today. I wished I had had a camera with me for one moment after a good half hour of rain when the sun popped out briefly again and in the streaming golden light a steaming mist arose from the fairway - it looked quite spectacular... unlike my shots!

We decided to call it a day after the 12th hole. I am now a mass of aching muscles... lugging that golf bag around ain't much fun... must find a caddy if I am going to do that again!

At Beer 'n' Bible tonight I was offered some tuition, so I think I will need to take that offer up. Never too old to learn something new, right?
