We decided to go ahead on Sunday night with Cosy Café Sundays, and I'm glad we did. We had a great night, cosy and warm from the cold and snow outside. The special feature for last night's gathering was a "Christmas Journey" labyrinth laid out in the sanctuary with different stops along the way at which travellers had an opportunity to think about different characters that we read about in the Nativity Story.

As always with a labyrinth using stations there is an awful lot of planning and setup involved, but it was worth it when you saw how well the young people were engaging in their time within the labyrinth. Indeed a number went back to take the journey a second time. [There's more...]

There is always a challenge in engaging people with a story that is so well known, even if perhaps not fully understood. I hope that last night was one of those opportunities to look a little deeper at the story of love come down to earth in Christ.

The atmosphere in the Cosy Café was really good, from the conversations in the café area to the laughter in the games hall and then the quiet mood in the sanctuary.

A good night.
