I'm just back in from the church and our Watchnight service to see in Christmas day. A very warm and relaxed atmosphere on yet another perishing night (-10C still!), and a joyous atmosphere. A great big thank you to every one of the young people who helped to plan and prepare for the service tonight. Above you will find the video that was used in the lead up to midnight. However, before you watch it, here is a word of preparation. While I was talking about gifts from the front of the church, an argument broke out between a couple, one heavily pregnant, in the middle of the congregation. Turned out that the father-to-be had been tasked with buying the Christmas presents and had failed to find that special gift. In a storm of shouted words the couple headed out of the sanctuary to see if they could find a shop still open... With much laughter as the door rattled off its hinges, the congregation then turned back to the screen to watch the video. More after the jump, but watch the video first! [There's more...] As the credits rolled, the couple came back into the church with the baby, and without any rehearsing or prompting from me started to walk around the church displaying the baby to one and all, who cooed and tickled and stroked. It worked brilliantly. Even the expected can be unexpected. A very Joyous Christmas to you all!
