A bizarre sculpture?

A picture taken today at the first day of "The Academy of Amazing Things" holiday club. An alien being? A slime monster? A work of abstract art as a new installation in the car park?

Each day Professor A.M.A. Zing is conducting experiments. Today we were using Coca-Cola and Diet Coke. And thus, the image above (thanks James for photos!) was from one of our Diet Coke and Mentos mint experiments! Don't try this one indoors, folks!

Here David Burt just about gets away in time as the Mentos plunge into the bottle instantly providing a source of thousands upon thousands of micro-cavities that are just what the CO2 in the carbonated drink needs to come out of solution with dramatic almost explosive results. I was backing away fast!

We were thinking about the start of Moses life today and remembered the basket in which he was placed as a baby making its way along the Nile river, having to risk the dangerous waters and what lay below to find safety. A busy and good first day. Tomorrow we continue the story...
