The IQ Youth Group starts back up after the summer break on Sunday 5 September. This is for young people from P7 up to S6 ages and provides a safe and fun place to share together and think about God-stuff, life and everything else.

IQ meets in the Nazarene Hall from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dinner is provided. It meets on the first and third Sunday's of the month for the rest of the year.

A gathering of men at a local public house for conversation in a relaxed setting about current events, hot topics, faith and the Bible. If you want to join the conversation you will be very welcome.

Venue: The West End Bar (corner of Glasgow Road and Bardykes Road)

Dates: 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month (9 and 23 September, 14 and 28 October)

Time: 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Sunday 27 June 2010 was Recognition Day when we celebrated the past year, and particularly recognised young people's involvement in the church with some gifts.

These included a gift from the Sunday Funday Club to the Children's Unit of The Haven: £150 being presented from the children to Jane Kiernay of The Haven who told us how that money would be used to support the families of parents who are going through difficult treatments or illnesses.

We also paid tribute to the work of Alastair Jamieson over many years as a leader in the Sunday Funday Club as he steps down from that role.

The Halliburton Trophy this year was awarded to James Taylor for his support in the IQ Youth Group over the past year.

The near completion of the S.A.W. Project (St Andrew's Working for the Community) was recognised and the newly refurbished halls, kitchen, cloakrooms, toilets and entrance foyer were dedicated for their service to the community.

Finally, this was the first Sunday to enjoy new seating in the church sanctuary as a result of gifts from the estate of the late Hugh Craig and Allan Walker and his family. This new seating was dedicated in memory of Elsie Walker and Hugh Craig, with a plaque to remind us of this generous gift to the church now installed in the sanctuary.

A glorious day of sunshine on Saturday 19 June benefitted everyone on the church outing organised by the Sunday Funday Club to Finlaystone House near Port Glasgow. A beautiful estate with all kinds of trails, adventure playgrounds, gardens, and the oh so important tea room was much appreciated.
