EmmausThe Way of Faith

The Emmaus course is an excellent resource that is run in St Andrew's under the leadership of the Maturity Action Group.

With many different modules usually of four or five week length, covering various different aspects of faith, it provides a good introduction for people seeking to find out more about God, those new to their faith, and also those looking to grow in their faith.

‘Too many people end up with roller coaster experiences of faith because the basic disciplines of their Christian lives are shallow or non-existent,’ says Felicity Lawson, one of the Emmaus authors.

What can I expect to find in each session?

Emmaus GroupEach session includes time for Bible study, input and discussion, group exercises, meditations, ways to put faith into practice, and prayers. The groups are facilitated by other church members as we explore together on the way of faith.

For Autumn 2012 an Emmaus group will be running:

The aim of this course is to give people an awareness of:

  • their new identity in Christ
  • the spiritual battle involved in living in that new identity
  • the grace that enables us to love God and others because we are accepted
