In St Andrew's we regularly join the Blythswood Care Shoe Box Appeal and will be doing so again in 2010.
In 2009 schools, churches, clubs and thousands of individuals donated 128,000 filled shoeboxes to the Blythswood Care Shoebox Appeal. These gifts brought much joy to the children and adults who received them.
As we did in 2008 in St Andrew's we will be combining our Shoe Box Appeal with Harvest Thanksgiving. This gives us plenty of time to organise and sort the shoe boxes prior to them being picked up by Blythswood Care and then shipped across the world.
From now through to the Harvest Thanksgiving service on 10 October we will gladly receive donations for the show boxes. The church will additionally be open on Saturday 9 October, 9 a.m. - 12 noon for donations. Or these can be left at the church office.
Please note that there are guidelines for what to include in the boxes. Click here to open a copy of the leaflet.
Note that we will also be receiving offerings of food for Harvest Thanksgiving as normal.
We hope to be able to send over 150 shoe boxes as we did in 2008.
