Weekly Prayer
Prayer 18; 19th May 2013. PDF Print E-mail

Heavenly Father we come before you in humble adoration

                      to pray and thank you.

As Christian Aid Week comes to a close let us realise that

this wonderful work is on going and not just for a week.

When we see the wonderful things that are done in your

name Lord, we pray that we can help as often as possible,

and when we cannot give any more let us pray for the

work done  by the volunteers both at home and abroad.

They work tirelessly, again in your Holy Name.

While praying to you Gracious God

we come before you with thanks.

We can never thank you enough but please accept our efforts.

During the coming week we will pray each day for all those

who are ill, lonely or bereaved.

Those who feel rejected, slighted or worthless.

We who have so much will, in our prayers remember all who

need your helping hand. Make us a channel of your love and

let us go willingly, and with joyous hearts reaching out to

              others less fortunate than ourselves.

We ask these prayers in Jesus name.            Amen.

Blessed Father we come in thanksgiving with joyous hearts

                        and humble minds.

We hope that you will receive our thankful prayers as we are

                  delighted by your abundant gifts.

You are so good to us Father. you bless us,

you bring all things beautiful before us ,

you give laughter to our souls,

and you want to give us so much more.

You would give us anything if you thought it would please us.

When we look back we realise just how bountiful you have been.

We pray that we did not take any of these gifts lightly,

that we were always honoured to receive them.

We don’t want to take anything thoughtlessly,

we want to cherish all the precious things you give us.

From now on Lord may we see all your gifts with fresh eyes,

and all the love you lavish on us open our hearts to one another.

Again Lord we thank you for everything and send these prayers

through Jesus Christ our saviour.    Amen.

                                 GOD IS LOVE

Heavenly Father God of Love hear us as we pray to you.

We know you love us all, but  your love is more

than just a  few words mumbled in a hurry.

We also have joy, and we realise just how wonderful that is.

So there we are.     God of Love and Joy.

O Father its breathtaking just how much love and joy

there is in our lives, not just a little,

but a fountain bubbling over us surrounding us

and spilling out as we meet people.

We pray you will help us Father to let people know how

much You mean to us, filling our lives with

                              love and joy.

When things are going well its easy but what happens on

                       the darker days?

Then you are there Lord, helping us, accompanying us

Showing us the way,     lighting our path

guiding our steps, keeping us safe.

Gracious God how thankful we are for all you do

we could never manage without you.

We bring these thoughts and prayers

To you through your Blessed son Jesus .

                                       Amen.

Prayer 15; 28th April 2013. PDF Print E-mail

Merciful Redeemer hear us this day.

We come to pray to you this day, We’ve come to ask forgiveness

for all our transgressions. We have been petty and thoughtless

and strayed from the narrow path.

Almighty God we are sorry and promise

we will try harder in the future

We pray constantly for your help and guidance

and you are always there for us.

Most of us would never get through the day

if you were not by our side.

As always we are thankful for all you do for us Lord,

and all the gifts we receive from you.

We pray that you will bless all our family and friends

                      especially those who are ill.

Be with them. comfort them, reassure them

and during the long night hold them in your Holy Arms.

We ask these things Heavenly Father because we know you will

grant them as they have been asked in humble and loving prayer.

through Jesus our Lord and Saviour          Amen

Prayer 14 ; 21st April 2013 PDF Print E-mail

Our Father in Heaven hear us as we pray to you.

We have tried so hard this last week but we know we have

fallen down at some point and for this we are sorry.

We pray Lord that all the small things that distress and tempt

us, you will use to strengthen us, and we will be all the

better for coming through those temptations.

By thought alone we cannot change one single part of Gods

plan for us. He knows best and we must follow him doing as

he asks us, whither we see the end result or not.

HOW GREAT IS OUR LORD AND HOW MIGHTY ARE HIS WORKS

We pray that we may be able to step forward to meet each

new day strong in the knowledge that God is by our side and

never asks us to do anything we are not capable of doing.

So in praying we ask for his company as we go about our

daily lives and that he will guide and bless us in all we do

in his name for Jesus sake  Amen.

Prayer 13; 14th April 2013 PDF Print E-mail

Dearest Lord we know that our prayers are a joy to you

and that you long to hear from us.

You delight in the relationship that we have with you

                  and this strengthens our prayers.

We want to speak with you so much, and we know how

eager you are to hear our grateful thanks

and our words of prayer for everything around us .

We need you Lord as our helper, and Redeemer as

sometimes no matter how hard we try, we fail.

We fail because we are human and find it hard to see

the plan you have for us, but you willingly,

take our hand and help us start again .

Dearest Lord we thank you for never forsaking us and

for giving us Jesus in whose name we bring these prayers.

Amen

Prayer 12; 7th April 2013 PDF Print E-mail

We come before you Heavenly Father with loving hearts

to ask your help in the coming weeks.

We remember well “ ask and you will receive” so please

Father we pray that you will give  us help, to do your

                         work here on earth .

When we ask in prayer for help, it’s a form of worship and

by speaking to you we are ensuring that you know our daily

thoughts and we are indeed worshipping you.

We are never alone when we pray because you are with us

Lord, and you fill us with the Holy Spirit, it’s a powerful

time and we can do so much, all in your name.

We must never forget Lord, the significance of small things,

A simple smile-- a word of encouragement -----a handshake

                       a listening ear-------a hug

These small things done in you name great Redeemer, do make

a difference to one persons life

As we bring our prayers before you Father we bring them

through Jesus your beloved son.      Amen

EASTER DAY ; 31st March 2013 PDF Print E-mail

                         EASTER DAY

     ALLELUIA                                ALLELUIA

                           Christ is Risen

Oh God our Father thank you for this wondrous Easter Day

when Jesus your own beloved son rose from the tomb.

Alleluia he lives, he has conquered death and sin.

He sets us free with his Holy Blood, that was spilled for us

on that cruel cross, not just for some of us but ALL of us.

We thank you Father and joyfully proclaim your  name.

We pray that from the darkness of the cross, to the brightness

Of a glorious new beginning, we can celebrate

with you God and the Heavenly Host above.

Let us raise our voices high, singing the praise of God our

Redeemer, and unto him give All Glory Laud and Honour

Let us now walk in the light of Easter, refreshed and renewed

ready to  bring Gods love to everyone we meet.

                       In Jesus name      Amen

Palm Sunday Prayer ; 24th march 2013 PDF Print E-mail

                      Palm Sunday

Its here ! the day of jubilation,

when crowds and shouts were heard all around.

We pray Gracious God that as we celebrate PALM SUNDAY

we realise what it means to us. The cries that day were Hosanna

Hosanna, glory to the Highest !  Jesus was entering Jerusalem

in triumph, albeit on  a donkey covered in coats.

We know that the crowds believed that Jesus was the

Messiah come to free them from Roman oppression.

All to soon the mood  changed and the crowd were against Him.

We pray that we can change how we feel, as sometimes

             we are like that crowd.

We turn our back on you, we speak out of turn,

we do not honour you, please merciful God forgive us

as we are weak and foolish.

Yes by all means let us celebrate Palm Sunday,

but in praying to you we will never forget the horror

of what is to follow before we reach that wonderful

      glorious day of the Resurrection

Through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour  Amen.

Prayer 11 17th March 2013 PDF Print E-mail

We come before you Almighty God on this 5th Sunday

of Lent, to praise and worship you.

We are preparing for our glorious Easter season and in this

we remember John the Baptist, who came to prepare the way

                       for Jesus.

How pleased and proud he was when he baptised Jesus,

surely it was one of the most wonderful moments of his life!

May we prepare for the next few weeks Lord by worshiping

                       just a little more deeply

just a little bit more fervently

just a little bit more devoutly

just a little bit more meaningfully .

We pray that we will have the strength to walk with you

                    On your road to Calvary,

as you walk with us every day of our lives.

We bring these prayers to you Father through Jesus your beloved son

Amen
