Weekly Prayer
Weekending 13 June 2015 PDF Print E-mail

Lord God, you give us all gifts,

Perhaps one is the gift of a caring heart

Helping others to see you God by out loving actions

Our warmth and our comforting ways

Through our presence others can know we are always there

To listen and help, we can be your ears, your hands.

What a joy it is for us caring Father, to be the one who listens

And then acts. We pray that we can be ever vigilant to the

Needs of others and in your name, come to the aid of others.

Gracious God, let us do all the small things, things that other

People may find too paltry, and not worth their while for

Nothing is too small in your sight. You assure us that what we

Do for others will be reassured and kept in your heart.

Empower us through the Holy Spirit to help in many ways.

To take on the cloak of compassion

That is the gift of a caring heart.

In Jesus name, Amen

Heavenly Father we glorify your name above all others.

We worship and adore you everything revolves round you

You are the centre of our lives.

You make us happy and our lives are filled with joy!

We pray gracious God that this joy can be used in our

Everyday lives to transform our relationships with others.

Let us the Children of God be the leaders, guiding others

And helping when the need arises.

Let us be modest Lord, This is one of the difficult bits!

We know that we will have to work on this but with your

Help through time, we will achieve modesty.

We also pray that we can overcome the perceived slights.

The thought that we are not in this group or that set over

There.  Help us to grow in our church family without any

Bitterness or rancour, we are Christians together and as

Such  we share the fellowship of all

We cannot make these changes by ourselves Dearest Father

So we pray that in the coming week you will bless us

We bring our prayers to you through your beloved son

Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour

Amen

Let There Be Light

As we pray together today, let us remember that Jesus

Is the light of the world, and because of this

We are never left in darkness

Jesus light helps us to see onto the dark corners

Where evil lurks.  In praying to you, God, we ask for

Help when we find ourselves in these dark places.

Only you can help and if we grasp your hand,

Soon we will come into the sunshine

We pray for all who have not seen the light

And live without it. Merciful Father

We strive to help as you gather them into the fold.

Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

How wonderful to know that Jesus is always there

For us, and is the beacon we follow.

We pray that we never let him down

He will always be there to pick us up when we fall

If we call on him and ask forgiveness

He will show us the way

These prayers come through Jesus our Lord, Amen

Abba Father as we pray to you this day let us be reverent

in all we say and do. We ask you to bless our friends and

family and all whom we hold dear.

This week we pray that you will be with the homeless and

all who live on the streets. How dreadful not to have a place

to call your own and subsequently no possessions either.

Everything in a brown paper bag, how devastating to your

confidence or self esteem. Let us keep these people who are

our brothers and sisters in our hearts and prayers, and perhaps

make a difference to someone else’s life.

Merciful God, please be with those who are ill or dying, It takes

a special strength to help in those last few precious hours but

that strength comes when You Father, are also present and that is

the work of the Holy Spirit. The people who are looking on

need special support at this time and this can only come when

we are willing to go the extra mile and be there with them.

Thank you gracious God for all the blessings of the last week.

You in your infinite goodness never stop giving all day every

day, riches are heaped upon us, you simply can not stop giving.

We try to say thank you for everything, but Lord you know us

so well, we have human frailties and sometimes we forget.

Forgive us as we adore you and want to praise your name

and be seen as your children. Father we love you.

We ask these prayers in the name of your beloved son, Jesus. Amen

Ever loving and gracious God, we come before you

in awe and wonder. Thank you for everything given

by you last week, your blessings made such a

difference in our busy lives.

Like the rest of the world, we are saddened by the

events in Nepal and we pray for all affected by such

a massive tragedy.  We hope that the people of Nepal

will find strength through You, to rebuild their lives

and start again. We who are left to look on in horror

will do our best with monetary aid and prayers not

forgetting our support for the aid agencies.

Lord hear our prayers !

We pray that you will guide our hearts and mouths

this week as sometimes we rush in with words

that once said cannot be take back. Let us pause for

a moment before we speak, Let us not be quick to

condemn but remember Jesus words, quiet and gracious.

Lord hear our prayers !

What an opportunity we now have to help others or

simply make life easier for someone. We all live busy

lives (or so we think) but we will try to give a smile a

kind word or the hand of friendship.

Lord hear our prayers !

Thank you again Lord for your presence in our lives and

we bring these prayers through Jesus your beloved son, Amen

Almighty and wondrous God we come before you in humility,

We bow at your feet and ask for forgiveness for all the silly,

stupid and petty things we did last week. As always we will

try harder this coming week. We also come before in joy and

thankfulness for all the blessings we received over the week.

Such happiness was ours especially in the lovely sunshine,

happy faces and smiling children.

We pray Lord that we who enjoy health and strength, sometimes

take these things for granted, but others struggle and every day

is dark and grey. Let us see this and may we help where we can

and brighten someones day, perhaps someone who has nothing

where a smile or a word would be welcome.

We ask that you would give us sensitivity and patience when we

visit or even nurse some one who is ill, we forget Lord they are

frightened and in pain. ay your Holy presence be there, a light

in the gloom and fill the room with your grace and mercy.

During the coming week, let us "go forth in joy" to do your will

and praise your name. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen

Beloved Heavenly Father we come before you in awe

and thanksgiving. We thank you for all your blessings

last week. Each new week we start off with the

best of intentions but all too soon we waver and fall by

the wayside.  Teach us oh Lord to pick ourselves up and

start again no matter what our sins and faults.  We know

your forgive us so it’s up to us to try harder.

We thank you for our changing seasons and the diversity

of them all.  At the moment spring is all around us and we

marvel at such beauty – flowers, trees, plants & shrubs.

The garden birds are a pleasure to behold and a delight

to hear all made by you lord, we thank you a thousand fold.

We pray for all who are ill or simply unwell, be with them

and give them comfort.  Sometimes the humdrum conditions

need greater courage and here we need your strength,.  For

those who are very ill, we ask that you will be by their side

at all times adding your gracious merciful healing and comfort

These prayers are asked through Jesus Christ your Son

Amen
