Weekly Prayer
Weekending 1 August 2015 PDF Print E-mail

Ever Righteous God we come before you to praise your

Holy Name. We join with the Heavenly Host in the never

Ending worship, joy and happiness sublime.

We pray for all the places in the worls where there is

Badness and evil. We cannot physically go to far away places

But we can pray, night and day for your divine intervention

We know the Power of Prayer!

Gracious Father we love you so much our lives light up

At the very thought of you and we know

That as we strive to become humble Christians, you are with us

Every step of the way helping, guiding and watching over us.

We pray Lord that you will be at the centre of our very being

Because without you we are nothing

Let us be ready Lord, ready to hear your voice no matter

Where we are or what we are doing, May we go forth in a

Steadfast manner always with you at our head

In the days that lie ahead make us more aware of all that we can

accomplish when we work with you and try to be more

like Jesus, in whose name these prayers are said.

Amen

Almighty God thank your for giving us the last seven days

Humbly we offer ourselves to your fo the coming week

We want to do things your way so we pray

That you will help us do your will

Firstly comes the peace we pray so sincerely for

Peace in our hearts and our daily lives

Secondly comes the freedom we pray for

The freedom we love to have

To throw ourselves into your work

By being able to help others do the same

Thirdly we pray that we night have the power,

If we submit to your will Lord we can resist evil

This is where we pray so hard loving God

Temptation is all around us and its so difficult to avoid

But with our special weapon – the power of prayer

We can overcome all things.

Help us Lord we pray in all we say and all we do

Because we ask this in Jesus name

AMEN

Gracious God we know you want to be Number One in our lives

And we pray that we might learn from you how to accomplish this.

We want to come into your presence first thing in our busy day,

So that we can set the tone for the whole day

We need your guidance as to where our true priorities lie

Only you know what is really important

And by asking you early in the morning lord

We will find a purpose for the day ahead

Speaking to you before we shower and dress

Is a wonderful way to focus, and heavenly Father

As we pray, this will show how determined we are

To begin our day with you

We can pray anywhere, any time but the stillness

And calm of early morning lends itself to joining with you

Making our prayers more powerful

Be with us and our loved ones during the coming week

We ask this in all humility in Jesus name

AMEN

Lord God, you give us all gifts,

Perhaps one is the gift of a caring heart

Helping others to see you God by out loving actions

Our warmth and our comforting ways

Through our presence others can know we are always there

To listen and help, we can be your ears, your hands.

What a joy it is for us caring Father, to be the one who listens

And then acts. We pray that we can be ever vigilant to the

Needs of others and in your name, come to the aid of others.

Gracious God, let us do all the small things, things that other

People may find too paltry, and not worth their while for

Nothing is too small in your sight. You assure us that what we

Do for others will be reassured and kept in your heart.

Empower us through the Holy Spirit to help in many ways.

To take on the cloak of compassion

That is the gift of a caring heart.

In Jesus name, Amen

Heavenly Father we glorify your name above all others.

We worship and adore you everything revolves round you

You are the centre of our lives.

You make us happy and our lives are filled with joy!

We pray gracious God that this joy can be used in our

Everyday lives to transform our relationships with others.

Let us the Children of God be the leaders, guiding others

And helping when the need arises.

Let us be modest Lord, This is one of the difficult bits!

We know that we will have to work on this but with your

Help through time, we will achieve modesty.

We also pray that we can overcome the perceived slights.

The thought that we are not in this group or that set over

There.  Help us to grow in our church family without any

Bitterness or rancour, we are Christians together and as

Such  we share the fellowship of all

We cannot make these changes by ourselves Dearest Father

So we pray that in the coming week you will bless us

We bring our prayers to you through your beloved son

Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour

Amen

Let There Be Light

As we pray together today, let us remember that Jesus

Is the light of the world, and because of this

We are never left in darkness

Jesus light helps us to see onto the dark corners

Where evil lurks.  In praying to you, God, we ask for

Help when we find ourselves in these dark places.

Only you can help and if we grasp your hand,

Soon we will come into the sunshine

We pray for all who have not seen the light

And live without it. Merciful Father

We strive to help as you gather them into the fold.

Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

How wonderful to know that Jesus is always there

For us, and is the beacon we follow.

We pray that we never let him down

He will always be there to pick us up when we fall

If we call on him and ask forgiveness

He will show us the way

These prayers come through Jesus our Lord, Amen

Abba Father as we pray to you this day let us be reverent

in all we say and do. We ask you to bless our friends and

family and all whom we hold dear.

This week we pray that you will be with the homeless and

all who live on the streets. How dreadful not to have a place

to call your own and subsequently no possessions either.

Everything in a brown paper bag, how devastating to your

confidence or self esteem. Let us keep these people who are

our brothers and sisters in our hearts and prayers, and perhaps

make a difference to someone else’s life.

Merciful God, please be with those who are ill or dying, It takes

a special strength to help in those last few precious hours but

that strength comes when You Father, are also present and that is

the work of the Holy Spirit. The people who are looking on

need special support at this time and this can only come when

we are willing to go the extra mile and be there with them.

Thank you gracious God for all the blessings of the last week.

You in your infinite goodness never stop giving all day every

day, riches are heaped upon us, you simply can not stop giving.

We try to say thank you for everything, but Lord you know us

so well, we have human frailties and sometimes we forget.

Forgive us as we adore you and want to praise your name

and be seen as your children. Father we love you.

We ask these prayers in the name of your beloved son, Jesus. Amen
