Weekly Prayer 4; 27th January 2013 PDF Print E-mail

King of King and Lords of Lords we approach your throne

in humility as we are not worthy of your love but we strive

every to be more like Jesus

We pray that you will help us Lord as we struggle with many

of your Commandments.    Human frailty is the most likely

reason we fall by the wayside and this is where we need help.

We thank you for all you have given during this last week,

your bounty knows no limits, every thing we need and more,

          food  warmth family and friends

In the bad weather you held us safe and kept us warm.

Forgiver of all things help those of us who are wrestling

with difficult times. Help us to say the right words always

remembering we may not be able to speak again. These

problems weigh heavy and we beseech you to help us.

Gracious God we pray that you will send the Holy Spirit to

be in our hearts and to help us from this day forth

              In Jesus Name    Amen

Prayer 3; 19th January 2013. PDF Print E-mail

Gracious God Almighty Redeemer, hear us as we call to you.

We love you so much and are thankful for all you give us

especially your son Jesus. He came into the world that we

might be forgiven of our sins, and have everlasting life.

We pray that his sacrifice was not in vain and that we will

try to do your will O Lord.

We pray for others who are in desperate need of help and if

possible we will be there for them. Alternately we can pray,

not just a few minutes when we remember, but sustained

prayer day after day. We know the power of prayer is immense

but first we actually have to pray! Help us here Lord if our

resolve begins to waver.

At this time of the year most of us are busy with new ideas and

projects.  Unfortunately not everyone is happy, especially

those who have loved ones who are ill, those who are bereaved.

or simply those who are lonely. We pray that you will be with

them Lord because only you can make that real difference.

Be with all the care workers and those who deal with the vulnerable

and the old, bless them Lord. Give them compassion and strength

along with a calm and caring demeanour for what is a difficult and

sometimes a challenging job.

We  bring our prayers to you through Jesus your son         Amen.

Prayer 2; 13th January 2013. PDF Print E-mail

All praise to you Heavenly Father as we come before you

with thankful hearts. We thank you for this New Year and

pray that you will bless us as bountifully as last year.

In praying we honour your Holy Name and we take every

opportunity to praise you and thank you.

We ask that you will be with the Christians in Syria and

those who have escaped to surrounding countries. These

people are existing in dire camps, in winter, with their

children, and no possessions.  Merciful God we pray that

you will be with them and help alleviate  their suffering.

We thank you for all the love which surrounds us, from

family and friends and our church family. We pray that

every one of them will know how special they are to us.

Merciful Father we humbly ask you to be with all known to

us who are ill, also those who take care of them. Strength for

those who are struggling and help for those who are getting

better. We pray that with your comforting, loving presence

they will know how much you love them.

We bring these thoughts and prayers to you through Jesus

                            Amen

Prayer 1; 6th January 2013 PDF Print E-mail

Lord God , you give us all gifts,

perhaps one is the gift of a caring heart

helping others to see you God by our loving actions,

our warmth and our comforting ways.

Through our presence others can know we are always there

to listen and help, we can be your ears your hands.

What a joy it is for us caring Father, to be the one who listens

and then acts. We pray that we can be ever vigilant to the

needs of others and in your name, come to the aid of others.

Gracious God let us do all the small things, things that other

people may find too paltry, and not worth their while for

nothing is too small in your sight. You assure us that what we

do for others will be treasured and kept in your heart.

Empower us through the Holy Spirit to help in many ways.

To take on the cloak of compassion

that is the gift  of a caring heart.

                           In Jesus name    Amen

Prayer for the New Year 2013 PDF Print E-mail

                          Prayer for New Year 2013

As we stand at the beginning of a new Year let us pray

Lord that you will guard and guide us to our full potential

                         In the year 2013.

We thank you for all the gifts you give to us all year, you give

them freely and graciously and without asking anything in

return. When we do ask for favours, we can be sure that you

will look on us with love and if possible they will be granted.

We hope this year Lord that we can all use our different talents

to work together as a group and not fractured bits on our own.

Make us stronger Lord to tackle the year ahead, with all its good

times and difficulties, and make our weakness a thing of the past.

We know that we have  a wonderful role model in Jesus and

by trying to do as he taught, we will make such a difference

in so many lives. “Love one another as I have loved you”  his

words,  and how appropriate and meaningful in our lives today.

We bring this prayer to you through Jesus your son.

                   May His Kingdom Come.             Amen.

Weekly Prayer 53; 30th Decemember 2012. PDF Print E-mail

Dear Father we pray to you on this in between week with

hope and thankfulness. After the excesses of Christmas time

we are eagerly looking forward to the New Year.

We hope that we have been able to show you that during the

last year we have tried to be better Christians. Its not at all

easy, but with your help next year we will go that little bit

further and try a little bit harder. We pray for your help and

guidance, because  without  that we are nothing. We know

how much it pleases you when we give as much as possible.

Even if we think we are doing enough you know we are not.

                             We can try………….

One        an extra offer of friendship,  two        a little more

time when we are praying, three         an extra coin when we

are giving, there are countless ways if only we look.

We pray in all sincerity that we really will try to be children

of God, living in Jesus footsteps and following his path.

Please Lord be with us during these last few days of the year

and hopefully when 2013 arrives we are ready to worship and

praise you and spread your Holy Word

Through Jesus our Lord        Amen

.

Prayer for Christmas Day; 25th Decemember 2012. PDF Print E-mail

                                 Christmas Day

“ JOY TO THE WORLD       OUR LORD IS HERE “

O God our Heavenly Father we rejoice with you this morning,

because our Lord Jesus Christ is born today.

Gracious God we are excited and our hearts are filled with praise.

Our hearts are also filled with great joy so much so

that we cannot stop smiling and singing and celebrating,

joining the Heavenly Host in praising your Name.

We thank you for all we have received today but we remember

in our prayers those who did not receive anything. Be with them

Lord, and show them the comfort we would choose for them.

We ask your blessing on all who are reading these words and we

pray that you will keep us safe throughout the coming year.

This we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ  Amen

Weekly Prayer 52; 22nd December 2012. PDF Print E-mail

Its nearly time,       its almost here,         will Santa come?

These are the thoughts of many as Christmas draws nearer,

its exciting to see the fairy lights and all the decorations

especially in the big stores. At home we try on a more

modest scale but its still exciting. All the family traditions

are there, who puts decorations on the tree and in what order.

Big decision, who sees to the  milk and carrot for Santa and

Rudolph. Yes we are busy but have we forgotten something?

Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus. There were no lights

or tinsel in the stable, our Lord even had a manger instead

of a cot. Not for Mary and Joseph the big Christmas dinner,

no they celebrated in quiet reverence.

When the shepherds came Mary and Joseph were amazed, but

when the Three Kings arrived they were  astounded. It is a magical

time of the year but we must not forget we receive Gods love freely

so we must remember the poor, the bereaved, the ill and the lonely.

To visit or give of your time and talents this Christmas Time

is lovely but what about the rest of the year?

Lets resolve to make every day “Just like Christmas”,  bringing

joy and love by doing a small service, passing on a bright smile,

exchanging a cheery word, all simple things but so meaningful.

We ask these things in Jesus name,

Holy babe born in a stable.      Amen
