Weekly Prayer
Prayer 8; 23rd February 2013 PDF Print E-mail

Hear us Lord as we pray to you.

We pray that you will  hear our sinful cries

                    and will forgive us.

We thank you for all you  give us every day,

Sometimes beautiful sunshine out of a clear blue sky

                  reflecting your Glory.

At other times we have the awesome majesty

of a thunderstorm. Sun or rain we are thankful for them.

All Glory Laud and Honour to you our Father

as we continue to worship you, we pray

that your Kingdom on earth will spread

and all will know your love and goodness.

We pray for all we know who are ill

and those who have recently left us,

               we remember their families,

and we will not forget their work here on earth.

         Lord  some are suffering, some

are restless and some are waiting for your call.

Be with them Lord surround them with love.

As we pray to you we humbly ask for your help

to be more like Jesus kind and helpful

and to serve you all the days of our lives.

We ask this thro Jesus your beloved son.

                          Amen

                  Lent      A Time for Reflection

On this first week of Lent our prayers, Heavenly Father

            are more meaningful than ever.

We thank you for the time Jesus spent in the wilderness

giving us our own forty days to pray, read and reflect

We know you do not expect us to spend time in the

wilderness fasting, but this is a time that can be special

            with your help and guidance.

We pray that we can conduct a self examination and look

honestly at ourselves and see where we lack Christian

               virtues,  values and  principals.

Our prayers are intense Merciful Redeemer and we ask

that the Holy Spirit may enter our hearts and will live

with us during our forty days.

In great humility we set out to emulate our dear saviours’

days of meditation and worth, all in anticipation of the

Glorious Easter message.

Prayer 6; 9th February 2012 PDF Print E-mail

Loving Heavenly Father hear us as we call to you in prayer.

What riches you have freely given to us

Love, food. warmth, joy of friends and family.

Father sometimes it is difficult for us to realise just how much

you lavish on us, help us to remember by helping others.

Let our love for you overflow and encompass those who need it.

We pray for all the fair trade farmers,  and hope that their hard

work is recognised by those who use their products. The little

extra it costs is more than worth while for such fine goods.

We pray God that you will guide the leaders of the nations,

help them with their difficult decisions and let them see

the way forward with compassion and love.

Gracious God in the coming week bless us and make us worthy

to be called your children,     in Jesus name Amen.

Prayer 5 ; 3rd February 2013. PDF Print E-mail

Oh its raining again, I’m fed up.

How many times have we said that in the last few weeks.

Dear Father forgive us for constantly moaning about the

weather. We know in this country we have a moderate

climate and we are not devastated by earthquakes, typhoons

or hurricanes but we still complain.

We pray that we will look kindly on the weather and if

possible put a smile on our faces as every thing is sent from

you and everything has a reason. We pray that you will help

where they need rain and help where there are floods.

During the coming week Father we ask for your blessing on

every thing we do. We want to serve you and do your will

but everyday happenings divert us from this purpose

Help us to concentrate on Jesus life and work. He was a friend

to all and excluded no one, it didn’t matter to him  if people

were well dressed or had all the latest trends. We pray that we

can see beyond the “outside dressing” and look into the hearts

of people we meet,  May they know us by our Christian Outlook

We bring these prayers to you Father through Jesus your Son.

Amen

Weekly Prayer 4; 27th January 2013 PDF Print E-mail

King of King and Lords of Lords we approach your throne

in humility as we are not worthy of your love but we strive

every to be more like Jesus

We pray that you will help us Lord as we struggle with many

of your Commandments.    Human frailty is the most likely

reason we fall by the wayside and this is where we need help.

We thank you for all you have given during this last week,

your bounty knows no limits, every thing we need and more,

          food  warmth family and friends

In the bad weather you held us safe and kept us warm.

Forgiver of all things help those of us who are wrestling

with difficult times. Help us to say the right words always

remembering we may not be able to speak again. These

problems weigh heavy and we beseech you to help us.

Gracious God we pray that you will send the Holy Spirit to

be in our hearts and to help us from this day forth

              In Jesus Name    Amen

Prayer 3; 19th January 2013. PDF Print E-mail

Gracious God Almighty Redeemer, hear us as we call to you.

We love you so much and are thankful for all you give us

especially your son Jesus. He came into the world that we

might be forgiven of our sins, and have everlasting life.

We pray that his sacrifice was not in vain and that we will

try to do your will O Lord.

We pray for others who are in desperate need of help and if

possible we will be there for them. Alternately we can pray,

not just a few minutes when we remember, but sustained

prayer day after day. We know the power of prayer is immense

but first we actually have to pray! Help us here Lord if our

resolve begins to waver.

At this time of the year most of us are busy with new ideas and

projects.  Unfortunately not everyone is happy, especially

those who have loved ones who are ill, those who are bereaved.

or simply those who are lonely. We pray that you will be with

them Lord because only you can make that real difference.

Be with all the care workers and those who deal with the vulnerable

and the old, bless them Lord. Give them compassion and strength

along with a calm and caring demeanour for what is a difficult and

sometimes a challenging job.

We  bring our prayers to you through Jesus your son         Amen.

Prayer 2; 13th January 2013. PDF Print E-mail

All praise to you Heavenly Father as we come before you

with thankful hearts. We thank you for this New Year and

pray that you will bless us as bountifully as last year.

In praying we honour your Holy Name and we take every

opportunity to praise you and thank you.

We ask that you will be with the Christians in Syria and

those who have escaped to surrounding countries. These

people are existing in dire camps, in winter, with their

children, and no possessions.  Merciful God we pray that

you will be with them and help alleviate  their suffering.

We thank you for all the love which surrounds us, from

family and friends and our church family. We pray that

every one of them will know how special they are to us.

Merciful Father we humbly ask you to be with all known to

us who are ill, also those who take care of them. Strength for

those who are struggling and help for those who are getting

better. We pray that with your comforting, loving presence

they will know how much you love them.

We bring these thoughts and prayers to you through Jesus

                            Amen

Prayer 1; 6th January 2013 PDF Print E-mail

Lord God , you give us all gifts,

perhaps one is the gift of a caring heart

helping others to see you God by our loving actions,

our warmth and our comforting ways.

Through our presence others can know we are always there

to listen and help, we can be your ears your hands.

What a joy it is for us caring Father, to be the one who listens

and then acts. We pray that we can be ever vigilant to the

needs of others and in your name, come to the aid of others.

Gracious God let us do all the small things, things that other

people may find too paltry, and not worth their while for

nothing is too small in your sight. You assure us that what we

do for others will be treasured and kept in your heart.

Empower us through the Holy Spirit to help in many ways.

To take on the cloak of compassion

that is the gift  of a caring heart.

                           In Jesus name    Amen

Prayer for the New Year 2013 PDF Print E-mail

                          Prayer for New Year 2013

As we stand at the beginning of a new Year let us pray

Lord that you will guard and guide us to our full potential

                         In the year 2013.

We thank you for all the gifts you give to us all year, you give

them freely and graciously and without asking anything in

return. When we do ask for favours, we can be sure that you

will look on us with love and if possible they will be granted.

We hope this year Lord that we can all use our different talents

to work together as a group and not fractured bits on our own.

Make us stronger Lord to tackle the year ahead, with all its good

times and difficulties, and make our weakness a thing of the past.

We know that we have  a wonderful role model in Jesus and

by trying to do as he taught, we will make such a difference

in so many lives. “Love one another as I have loved you”  his

words,  and how appropriate and meaningful in our lives today.

We bring this prayer to you through Jesus your son.

                   May His Kingdom Come.             Amen.
