National Gathering Photo MontageWe are looking forward to the Church Without Walls 2008: National Gathering being held 3-4 May at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston, Edinburgh. It is a great opportunity to join with other Christians from different churches across Scotland and to hear some world-class speakers and Christian performers.

In St Andrew's we will be joining hundreds of other churches who are telling their story in the Tented Village.

A number of members from St Andrew's will be visiting The National Gathering on Sunday. If you would like to join us, you can purchase tickets at the gate on arrival at the Royal Highland Centre. We hope to see you there.

Annual Report

Annual Report and AccountsUnder the new charity regulations the method of showing the congregations accounts at the end of the year has changed. The accounts are now incorporated into a full report of the work of the church over the year. The Kirk Session has now approved the Annual Report & Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2007. All church households should receive a copy from Sunday 6 April. However, an electronic copy is also available.

Under the new regulations the accounts are no longer agreed by the congregation as a whole, but rather by the charity trustees, which in our case is the Kirk Session. At the Stated Annual Meeting held after worship on Sunday 13 April, an opportunity was given for all church members to raise questions or to seek clarification on any matters with respect to the Annual Report and Accounts.

Materials Action Group: Nazarene Hall

The refurbishment of the Nazarene Hall, set behind the main church building (and located on Elm Street), is now well underway. New flooring has been laid down to replace the tired carpeting, the unused staged area has been removed, and the electrical requirements reviewed including the installation of wiring for the use of multimedia equipment. The interior is looking much fresher as it has been repainted.

It is hoped that where the staged area was new storage cupboards can be built for the use of both church groups and outside organisations who may use the building and require a place to store equipment.

If you know of any groups that need a place in which to meet, or if you are the leader of such a group, then please contact us.

Within the church itself, the planned replacement of the windows in the church sanctuary will go ahead in 2008.
