Opportunities within St Andrew's

Introduction

Church Membership

Opportunities

To rephrase a famous sentence: 'It is not just what your church can do for you, but what you can do for your church.'

All the good work that goes on in the name of Jesus Christ by St Andrew's is only possible because people give of their time, money and abilities in the service of their Lord and his church. In other words, taking their vows of membership with sincerity and doing their best to fulfil them with Christ's help.

We will never turn away anyone who offers their services, in whatever way.

You will see from a look at this web site the range of areas we are involved with. If you are interested in any of these then please contact either the person listed as a contact or use the contact form for more information.

Man in front of tankWe are also committed to providing ways to serve Christ in the wider community and world through action with Christian Aid and other such organisations. Opportunities for helping in this work should be discussed with Peter Johnston. Do I have to have special gifts?

We believe that everyone has something which they are able to give in the service of Christ. It may be the gift of prayer, of listening, of practical assistance, of reading, of singing, of painting and decorating, of carpentry, of hospitality and welcome, or a whole host of other gifts.

Some of these gifts sound ordinary, but all of them are necessary and have their place in the work of Christ's church.

I believe I have something to offer that St Andrew's is not providing?

That might very well be the case. If so we would love to make room in our ministry for your ideas and input.
