Y Now Song

Looking back two thousand years
to the time it all began.
When Jesus came to earth
and he grew to be a man.
How he died upon a cross
and arose to life again.
And we are celebrating now,
because Jesus came way back then.
We celebrate Jesus,
for his life has changed the world.
Yes we celebrate Jesus,
men and women, boys and girls,
and we celebrate good news:
we can live and never die.
We can celebrate for evermore
and Jesus is the reason Y.

During the 2004 October School Holidays we ran a Holiday Club for Primary School Aged children. Here are some pictures from the Holiday Club. Click on the picture for a larger version.

Y Now Picture Collage

We used the Scripture Union Y Now? material that was originally written for the Millennium year and so thinks about Jesus after 2000 years.

What was the Holiday Club all about?

A long, long time ago people used a symbol shaped like the letter Y to represent God. And today it also helps us ask, 'Why?' Why do we believe in Jesus?

During the three days of the Holiday Club we looked at three Y questions:

Y Jesus Came

Y Jesus Came

We will think about why Jesus came into the world - the most important thing ever to happen to this world.

Y Jesus Died

Y Jesus Died

We will spend some time thinking about why Jesus' death and resurrection (when God brought him back from death) are so important. They are important because they show us what God is like.

Y Life Could ChangeY Life Could Change

God is there for us. He understands our questions and will help us find the answers. We should try to follow Jesus, but sometimes that won't be in ways that we expect! We will learn from Philip and an Ethiopian man how their lives were changed by God.

Check back in the New Year 2005 for news about our next Holiday Club that will be held 11-15 April 2005.

We look forward to seeing you there!

2005 Holiday Club

We will be having another holiday club in 2005.

This will run during the April Spring Break: 11-15 April.

More details will be posted on the St Andrew's website nearer the time.
